Diving in Malta with Octopus Garden
The Maltese archipelago is a treasure trove for cave, drop off and wreck diving fans. Whether on the main island of Malta, or on its sister islands of Gozo and Comino – there is a multitude to discover around the diving paradise found in the heart of the Mediterranean, with more than 50 spectacular spots that we regularly visit. These include – beautiful caves, rock arches, natural limestone harbours, bays, cliffs, reefs and mystical shipwrecks.
The predominantly stony sea floor and minimal tides guarantee excellent underwater visibility of up to 40 meters at water temperatures of up to 27 degrees, even at greater depths.
The diving spots are easily accessible and, due to the short distances to our base, can be reached quickly by water or land. There are fascinating diving spots at every depth. Whether diving at the shallower “Santa Maria Caves” near Comino at a level of 9m underwater or the “Imperial Eagle”, located at 40 m water depth with the famous underwater statue of Jesus, you will be guaranteed an amazing time.
For advanced divers there are various dive sites that offer archaeological artifacts from World War II or even from the Roman era, or even the famous Lantern Point, where a chimney leads divers down into an underwater tunnel.
All of this makes Malta a dream destination for underwater photographers too. Life in the sea blooms in the strongest colours here and the spectacular play of light is legendary in every location, be it in the caves of Qawra Reef or the Blue Lagoon on Comino.
An exciting addition to your visit is a dive at night, where colours shimmer in the beam of your diving torch. Dives of this kind are a unique adventure for the experienced – where we accompany you safely and with expertise.
